Chapter 1

A man is driving his car at full speed through the dark road while loud music is playing inside the car

The road is almost empty, and there are trees on both sides, making the entire area look strange and quiet

He keeps one hand on the steering wheel while his eyes remain focused on the road, but suddenly something shining between the trees catches his attention

He slows down slightly and looks towards the forest. A bright golden light is coming from somewhere deep inside the jungle

He narrows his eyes, trying to understand what he is seeing

“Ye chiz to sone ki tarah chamak Rahi hai”

(This thing is shining like a gold)

He says with curiosity. The light looks so unusual that he cannot stop himself from wondering what could be hidden inside such a dark forest

Instead of continuing on the main road, he turns his car towards the jungle and starts following the strange light

The road becomes rough as he drives deeper inside. Branches hit the sides of his car, and the sound of the music slowly becomes less noticeable because his attention is completely fixed on the golden light ahead

He keeps driving, following it through the darkness. The deeper he goes, the quieter everything becomes

There are no other cars, no people and no signs of any normal road. Still, the golden light keeps shining through the trees as if it is guiding him somewhere

After driving for some time, the trees suddenly become less dense, and a huge gate appears in front of him. He presses the brakes immediately and stares ahead with wide eyes

Behind the enormous gate stands a grand mansion. The entire building is shining like gold under the strange light

Its walls, windows and huge pillars look so bright that for a moment he forgets that he is standing in the middle of a forest

He slowly lowers the music and looks at the mansion in disbelief. He cannot understand how such a massive and beautiful place can exist so deep inside a jungle without anyone knowing about it

Before he can even think properly, the huge gate slowly opens on its own. He looks at it with surprise but then drives his car inside

The gate closes behind him as soon as the car enters. He looks at it through the rear view mirror for a few seconds before turning his attention back towards the mansion

He parks the car in front of the huge entrance and steps outside. The air feels strangely cold despite the golden light surrounding the place

He looks around once before walking towards the entrance. The massive doors are already open, so he slowly steps inside. The moment he enters, his eyes widen again

The interior looks even more beautiful than the outside. Huge golden pillars stand on both sides, expensive looking decorations cover the walls, and the floor shines brightly under the hanging lights

Everything looks ancient but also grand, as if the mansion belongs to a king from another time

He slowly turns around, trying to understand what kind of person could own such a place. His voice echoes through the empty hall as he says

“Ye mahal kiska hai”

(Whose palace is this)

There is no answer. Only his own voice returns to him from the huge walls

He walks a little farther inside, still looking around in wonder. The silence suddenly breaks when he hears a soft and melodious voice behind him

“Kaun ho tum”

(Who are you)

The man freezes for a moment. He slowly turns around, and a smirk appears on his face. A breathtakingly beautiful woman is coming out of one of the rooms

She is wearing a beautiful saree with heavy jewellery, and her appearance makes her look no less than a queen

Her face is calm, her eyes are beautiful, and there is something strangely mysterious about her presence

The man looks at her with surprise and admiration. He slowly walks towards her and says

“Tumhaari jaesi sundar ladki yaha kya kar rahi hai”

(What is a beautiful girl like you doing here)

The woman looks at him innocently. Her expression carries sadness as she looks towards the closed entrance behind him. She replies softly

“Mai is mehal ke baahar nahi ja sakti, kya tum leke jaoge mujhe”

( I can't go out of this palace, will you take me from here)

A smirk appears on his face. He looks at her from top to bottom, noticing her royal clothes and jewellery, and then nods his head thinking about having sex with her

He seems pleased by the idea of taking her away from this strange mansion. He reaches towards her and holds her hand

She innocently looks at him as if she has finally found someone who can help her. The man turns around, ready to take her towards the entrance

But after taking only a few steps, he suddenly stops. His eyes widen, and his body becomes completely still. Something feels wrong. He looks down at the floor

His own shadow is clearly visible beneath the golden light. But there is no shadow of the woman standing beside him

His breathing becomes heavy. Slowly, very slowly, he turns his head towards her

The woman is still standing there, but the innocent expression on her face has completely changed

A scream leaves his mouth, and the man lets go of her hand in fear. Her beautiful saree is now covered with blood. Blood is running across her clothes, her hands and her face

Her eyes look completely different, and the beautiful mansion around them suddenly begins to change

The golden walls become dirty and damaged. The shining pillars become old and cracked. The expensive decorations disappear, replaced by broken furniture and dusty walls

The bright lights disappear, and the entire mansion becomes dark and frightening. The man looks around in panic as he realizes that the grand golden palace was never what it appeared to be

He turns towards the entrance and starts running. He reaches the huge door and tries to open it, but it suddenly slams shut

He pulls at the handle with all his strength, but the door does not move. Panic fills his face as he realizes that he is trapped inside. He looks over his shoulder

The woman is standing several steps behind him. She suddenly jumps towards him with terrifying speed

He falls to the ground as she attacks him, and her laughter echoes through the old mansion. He tries to escape, but there is nowhere to go

Her laughter becomes louder while the darkness around them seems to swallow every sound

The man screams in fear as the woman tears him apart, her blood covered face remaining strangely calm between her cruel laughter

After everything becomes silent, she slowly moves closer to him. Her face comes near his ear, and her voice becomes nothing more than a cold whisper

“Kisi par bharosa nahi karna chahiye, maut se siwa kuch nahi milta”

( You should not trust anyone, you get nothing except death)

Her words echo through the abandoned mansion as the golden light outside disappears completely, leaving the forest in darkness once again

Mira is sleeping peacefully on her bed, her head resting softly on the pillow while one of her hands is placed over her stomach

The room is quiet, with only the soft sound of the wind coming from the slightly open window. Her six month pregnant stomach is slowly rising and falling with every breath

Beside her, Rajveer is also sleeping peacefully, completely unaware of anything around him

The palace is silent at this late hour, and there is not even a sound of footsteps in the long corridors outside their room

Mira turns slightly in her sleep and pulls the blanket closer to herself, but suddenly a faint sound reaches her ears

At first, she does not understand what it is. She keeps her eyes closed, thinking that maybe the sound is part of her dream. But after a few seconds, the sound comes again

It is a soft crying voice. Mira slowly opens her eyes. She stays still for a moment and looks at Rajveer, who is sleeping peacefully beside her

His face looks completely relaxed, and his breathing is slow and steady. Mira frowns slightly as she listens carefully. Again, she hears someone crying somewhere outside their room

She slowly lifts her head from the pillow and looks towards the door. The crying is faint, but it is clearly there. She sits up carefully, placing one hand on her stomach while using the other hand to support herself

She does not want to wake Rajveer because he looks tired, so she slowly moves her legs off the bed and sits there for a few seconds

Her eyes remain fixed on the door. The crying continues. Mira gently rubs her stomach and whispers to herself, wondering who could possibly be crying in the palace at this hour

She slowly stands up, taking extra care because of her pregnancy, and walks towards the door. She opens it quietly so that Rajveer does not wake up

The moment she steps outside, the cold air of the palace corridor touches her face. Mira looks around. The long corridor is almost completely dark, with only a few lamps burning at a distance

The large palace feels different at night. During the day, there are servants moving around, people talking, and the sound of footsteps everywhere

But at this hour, everything feels strangely silent. Mira looks towards both sides of the corridor and softly says

"Kaun hai vaha"

(Who's there)

Her voice echoes through the empty hallway. There is no answer. She waits for a few seconds, but then the crying sound comes again

This time, it seems a little clearer. Mira's eyebrows come together in confusion. She slowly walks ahead, one hand still resting protectively over her stomach

Her heart starts beating a little faster as she follows the sound. She knows that she should probably go back to her room and wake Rajveer, but something inside her keeps telling her to move forward

She does not understand why she feels so drawn towards that particular direction. It is almost as if something is silently pulling her towards the sound

Mira walks slowly through the long corridor, her footsteps making a faint sound against the floor. Every few steps, she looks behind her, feeling slightly scared

There is nobody there. She turns back towards the front and continues walking. The crying voice becomes louder as she moves ahead

It is definitely a woman's voice. Mira can hear quiet sobs coming from somewhere nearby. Her confusion grows with every step

She wonders if one of the palace servants is hurt or if something has happened to someone. She walks past several closed rooms before finally stopping in front of an old wooden door

The door looks different from the others. It is covered in dust, and the area around it looks almost untouched

There is a large lock hanging outside the door. Mira stares at it with confusion. She slowly looks at the door and then at the lock

The crying voice is coming from inside. She takes a small step closer. Her fear grows, but the strange feeling pulling her towards the room becomes even stronger

She raises her hand slightly and whispers

"Kaun hai andar"

(Who's inside)

For a moment, everything becomes silent. Mira waits. Then she hears the woman crying again

The sound comes directly from behind the locked door. Mira's eyes widen. She takes another careful step forward. She remembers what she has been told about this room

According to the information she knows, this room has been locked for five years. Nobody is allowed to enter it. She has never even seen anyone open it

She had once asked about it, but the answer had always been the same: the room was not in use

That memory suddenly makes the situation even more confusing. If the room has been locked for five years, then who is crying inside?

Mira stares at the lock while her mind fills with questions. Maybe someone has entered the room secretly. Maybe someone is trapped inside

Maybe the palace staff does not know about it. She slowly raises her hand towards the lock. Her fingers are just about to touch it when suddenly a loud voice echoes through the corridor

"Mira!"

She flinches badly. Her entire body freezes for a moment, and she quickly turns around. Rajveer is running towards her

His hair is slightly messy, and his face is filled with tension. He looks worried and almost frightened when he sees her standing in front of the locked room

Mira lowers her hand immediately. Rajveer reaches her and grabs her hand, looking at her carefully from head to toe as if making sure that she is safe

"Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho, Mira?"

(What are you doing here mira)

He asks in a tense voice. Mira looks at him, still confused by everything that has happened. She points towards the locked room and softly says

"Vo andar se kisi ke rone ki awaaz aa rahi thi"

(There was the sound of someone crying from inside)

Rajveer's expression changes for a second. He looks directly at the door. His eyes remain fixed on the old lock, and for a moment, something dark passes through his face

But he quickly controls himself and looks back at Mira. She watches him carefully, expecting him to hear the crying too

But Rajveer does not say anything about it. Instead, he gently pulls her away from the door

"Chalo mere saath"

(Come with me)

He says. Mira does not move immediately. She looks back at the room once more. The crying voice is no longer as loud as before. Her heart still tells her that she heard it. She looks at Rajveer again and says

"Lekin Rajveer, mujhe sach mein kisi ke rone ki awaaz aayi thi. Main jhoot nahi bol rahi hoon"

(But Rajveer, I really did hear someone crying. I'm not lying)

Rajveer looks at her and softly shakes his head

"Maine kab kaha tum jhoot bol rahi ho, Bas tumhe shayad veham hua hai"

(When did I say that you were lying, you probably have a misconception)

"Lekin awaaz toh sach mein aa rahi thi"

(But the voice was really coming)

Mira looks back at the locked door. Rajveer takes her hand properly in his and gently pulls her closer to him

"Ye kamra bahut time se band hai aur yaha koi nahi hai"

(This room has been closed for a long time and there is no one here)

He says. He looks at the door again before continuing

"Maine bola tha na tumhe ki horror movies mat dekho. Ab tumhe veham ho raha hai"

(I told you not to watch horror movies. Now you're hallucinating)

Mira's lips form a small pout. She looks slightly annoyed because Rajveer is making fun of her fear instead of taking her seriously

"Mujhe pata hai maine kya suna"

(I know what I heard)

She says softly. Rajveer looks at her pout and tries to hide the tension in his eyes. He gently places his hand on her shoulder

"Theek hai, meri galti hai maharani . Ab chalo room mein"

(Okay it's my mistake queen, now let's go back to the room)

Mira does not answer. She looks at the locked room one last time. Something about it still feels strange to her

The crying voice had sounded so real. She cannot understand how her mind could create such a clear sound

But then she remembers Rajveer's words and thinks maybe she really is imagining things because she has been watching too many horror movies lately

She slowly nods and allows him to take her away from the room. As they begin walking back, Mira keeps looking over her shoulder

The old locked door becomes smaller and smaller as they move away. She feels an unexplained heaviness in her heart, but she says nothing more

Rajveer keeps holding her hand while walking beside her. His grip is gentle, but his expression is completely different from the one he showed Mira

He keeps his eyes ahead, making sure she does not notice the darkness in his face. Mira continues walking beside him, unaware of what is going through his mind

She places her free hand over her stomach and softly rubs it, thinking about the strange crying voice

Rajveer looks at her hand for a moment and then looks away. He knows exactly what is behind that locked door

He knows that the room has not been empty for five years. He also knows why the lock has never been opened in front of anyone

But Mira does not need to know any of it. Not now. Not when she is carrying his child. He tightens his hold on her hand slightly as they reach their room

Her mind is still filled with questions, but the tiredness of the night begins to take over

Rajveer waits until she is calm. After a few moments, her breathing becomes slow again. He watches her sleeping face and then looks towards the door

His expression completely changes. The softness disappears from his eyes. He gets up quietly and walks towards the door, making sure Mira does not wake up

He stands there for a few seconds, staring into the dark corridor. The memory of that locked room comes back to his mind

He remembers the crying voice. He knows that Mira did hear it. It was not her imagination. He knows exactly who is behind that door and why that person has been kept hidden for five years

His jaw tightens as anger fills his eyes. He looks back at his wife, who is sleeping peacefully with one hand resting over her six month stomach

Then his eyes fall on her stomach for a moment. His expression becomes protective. He knows that the person behind that door must never come near Mira

He knows that whatever happened in the past must remain buried. He slowly closes the door and whispers under his breath

"Meri biwi aur bacche par kabhi teri nazar bhi nahi padne dunga main"

(I won't even let your eyes fall on my wife and baby)

After saying those words, he looks towards the corridor one last time. His face remains dark and serious as he silently promises himself that the locked room will stay locked, and the secret hidden inside it will never reach his pregnant wife or their children

Meanwhile, Mira remains unaware of everything. She sleeps peacefully on the bed, believing that maybe the crying voice was nothing more than her imagination

But somewhere deep inside the palace, behind an old locked door, the silence does not last for long

A faint sob escapes from the room again, disappearing into the empty corridor while Rajveer stands silently outside his own room, knowing that the secret he has protected for five years has almost been discovered

Riya is sitting peacefully on the couch, softly knitting a small sweater with a smile plastered on her face

Her fingers move carefully over the wool, feeling every thread even though she cannot see what she is making

The room around her is quiet, and the soft sound of the knitting needles moving against each other fills the space. Riya has become used to living in a world without sight

She cannot see the faces of the people she loves, cannot see the rooms she lives in, and cannot see the small things happening around her, but she has learned to recognise everything through sounds, touches, and feelings

She knows every corner of the house, every sound of footsteps, and every little habit of the people around her

She continues knitting with the same peaceful smile when suddenly she feels someone gently touching her hand. Her fingers immediately stop moving

A familiar touch reaches her, and without even thinking for a second, she softly whispers

"Tahir"

A pout appears on Tahir's face. He still cannot understand how his mother manages to recognise him so easily, especially when she is blind

He looks at her with innocent confusion before saying

"Aap hamesha mujhe pehchaan kaesi leti hai mumma"

(How can you recognise me always mom)

Riya smiles softly at his voice. She carefully reaches towards him and holds him in her arms

"Mai apni jaan ko kaese nahi pehchanungi"

(How can I not recognise my life)

She says with a smile. Her fingers gently move over his little face, feeling his cheeks and hair

She knows every little feature of her three year old son through her touch. Tahir immediately climbs onto her lap and wraps his small arms around her neck

Riya chuckles softly as she feels his little body against her. She cannot see him, but she can feel the love he has for her

She can feel the way his little arms hold her tightly, the way his small face rests against her shoulder, and the way he looks at her even though she cannot see his eyes

For Riya, that is enough. She gently holds him closer, smiling as her son stays peacefully in her arms

Tahir remains quiet for a moment before he slowly lifts his head and looks at his mother

His innocent face is filled with excitement because there is something he wants to ask her. He softly says

"Mumma mujhe dada aur dadi ke Ghar Jana hai"

(Mumma I want to go to dadi and dadu's house)

The smile on Riya's face remains for a moment, but before she can answer, Mihir's voice comes from nearby

"Tahir maine mana Kiya tha na uss jagah ka naam lene se"

(Tahir I have told you not to say that place name)

Tahir flinches hard after hearing his father's words. His little body becomes stiff, and he immediately tightens his hold on his mother

He does not even turn towards Mihir. Riya slowly turns her face in the direction of Mihir's voice

She may not be able to see him, but she can understand from his tone that he has spoken harshly to their son. Her expression changes as she says

"Mihir maine kitni baar kaha hai ki tahir par chillaya mat karo"

(Mihir how many times I have told you to not shout at tahir)

Mihir's expression softens immediately. He knows he has scared his son again, and hearing Riya's words makes him realise his mistake

He slowly comes closer to them and softly whispers

"Sorry riya"

He sits beside his wife, his eyes remaining fixed on Tahir, who is still not looking at him. The little boy continues hugging his mother, clearly upset with his father

Mihir watches him for a few seconds before slowly reaching out his hand. He gently caresses Tahir's face, but Tahir does not respond to him

Mihir's fingers move carefully over his son's cheek as he says

"Baccha vo jagah aapke liye safe nahi hai"

(Baby that place is not safe for you)

Tahir finally turns his face slightly towards his father. His small eyes are filled with confusion

He cannot understand why his father never allows him to go to his grandparents' house. He has heard about his dada and dadi many times, but every time he asks to meet them, Mihir stops him. Tahir softly asks

"Par kyu dad, mai vaha kyu nahi jaa sakta"

(But why dad, why I can't go there)

Mihir becomes silent. He has no answer that he can give to his son. He cannot tell him the truth

He cannot tell a three year old child why he has kept him away from that place

He cannot tell him about everything that happened before Tahir was born, and he cannot tell him about the people who may still be waiting for an opportunity to hurt his family

He simply looks at his son, knowing that the truth is too dangerous to speak. Riya also sits there with a confused expression

She has asked Mihir the same question many times. She has tried to understand why he keeps so many things hidden from her, why he never lets her go anywhere alone, why he refuses to take Tahir to his grandparents' house, and why he becomes so tense whenever that place is mentioned

But Mihir never gives her an answer. It has been four years since their marriage, a marriage that had started as something forced and unwanted, but somewhere along the way, everything changed

Mihir had fallen in love with Riya so deeply that he could no longer imagine his life without her

The woman he once never expected to love had slowly become the centre of his entire world. Her blindness had never made him see her as weak

Instead, it had made his need to protect her even stronger. He never let her go anywhere alone

He always wanted to know where she was, who was around her, and whether she was safe. At first, Riya had thought his behaviour was only because of their unusual marriage and the circumstances around it

But with time, she understood that Mihir's feelings for her had become much deeper. Still, his love had also become suffocating at times

She could feel how tightly he tried to control everything around her, even when she never asked him to

Tahir slowly gets down from Riya's lap. His little feet touch the floor, and he walks away without looking at his father

He is angry with Mihir for shouting at him and for refusing to answer his question. He runs towards his room, leaving Riya and Mihir sitting together on the couch

Riya listens to the sound of his little footsteps becoming quieter as he moves away. Her heart feels heavy because she knows Tahir is upset. She slowly turns towards Mihir and says

"Mujhe pura duniya se chhupakar rakhte ho, usse kab tak chupaake rakh paoge"

( You keep me hidden from the whole world, how long will you be able to keep him hidden)

Mihir does not answer immediately. He knows exactly what she means. He has been hiding the truth from both of them for years

He has created walls around their little family because he believes those walls are the only thing keeping them safe

Riya remains silent for a moment, waiting for him to say something, but Mihir still does not reveal anything

Instead, he wraps his hand around her shoulder and pulls her closer to him. Riya slowly leans her head towards his direction, feeling the warmth of his body beside her

Mihir holds her carefully, his expression serious as he says

"Tum dono ko protect karne ke liye mai kuch bhi kar sakta hu"

(I can do anything to protect you both)

Riya listens to him quietly. She knows that Mihir loves her. She knows that his fear comes from somewhere, but she is tired of being kept in the dark

She gently shakes her head because his overprotective behaviour has started becoming too much for her

She does not want to spend her entire life being protected from a world she cannot even see. She wants answers

She wants to know why her husband is always afraid of something he refuses to explain. She wants to know why her son cannot meet his grandparents

She wants to know what is hidden behind all the secrets Mihir keeps around their family

But Mihir remains silent, holding her close as if his arms alone can protect her from everything

Riya does not know that only a floor above them, something dark has already happened. She cannot see the upper floor, and she cannot know what his bodyguards are doing there

A worker's dead body lies there while the bodyguards quietly clean the area and remove every trace of what happened

Mihir had killed that worker because he had been staring at Riya. For Mihir, even the worker's simple gaze had become something dangerous

His jealousy and possessiveness had taken control of him, and now the consequences were being hidden from his wife

Riya knows nothing about it. She remains beside Mihir, unaware of the truth that exists just above their heads

She only feels his arm around her shoulder and hears his promise that he will protect her and their son at any cost

She slowly closes her eyes, exhausted from asking questions that never receive answers. Mihir looks at her silently, his hand still wrapped around her shoulder

He knows Riya is tired of his behaviour, but he also believes that if keeping secrets is what it takes to protect her and Tahir, then he will continue doing it

He looks towards the direction where Tahir has gone and then back at his wife. His family is the only thing he cares about, and in his mind, nothing is more important than keeping them away from the danger he knows exists

Riya remains unaware of the dead worker upstairs, unaware of the reason behind Mihir's increasing possessiveness, and unaware that the man sitting beside her is carrying a secret far darker than she could ever imagine

Mihika is sitting quietly on the bed, her back resting against the soft pillows as she stares at her seven days old daughter sleeping peacefully in front of her

A soft smile is present on her face as she looks at the tiny baby wrapped carefully in a white cloth

Her daughter is so small that Mihika still finds it difficult to believe that she is really a mother now

She slowly moves her fingers over the baby's little head, being extremely careful not to disturb her sleep. Her heart fills with a strange kind of happiness every time she looks at her

This little girl is the only thing in Mihika's entire life that comes from her own choice, her own heart, and her own desire

Everything else in her life has always been decided for her. Even her birth was not completely her family's choice

The priest of her family had decided the time, the place, and even the rituals surrounding her birth because her family believed that everything about a royal child had to happen according to their traditions and beliefs

Mihika has grown up listening to people deciding things for her. Her clothes, her education, her duties, her marriage, and almost every important part of her life have been controlled by others

She has never complained because she has always been taught that a princess does not question the decisions made by her family

But when her daughter was born, something inside Mihika changed

For the first time, she felt that there was someone in her life whom she could love without conditions and without anyone telling her how much she was allowed to love

Aashvi is her daughter, her little princess, and Mihika feels that she can do anything for her. She slowly bends towards the baby and presses a soft kiss on her forehead

The little girl moves her tiny fingers in her sleep, making Mihika smile even more. She continues staring at her daughter when suddenly a familiar voice reaches her ears

"Meri rajkumaari aur rani kya kar rahi hai"

(What are my princess and queen doing)

The voice sends a shiver down Mihika's spine. Her fingers stop for a moment, and she slowly turns around

Mrityunjay is standing near the entrance of the room, staring at his wife and daughter with a smile on his face

He walks inside and closes the door behind him before coming towards the bed. Mihika watches him silently as he sits beside her

His eyes immediately move towards their daughter, and his smile becomes softer. He looks at the tiny baby for a few seconds before looking at Mihika

"Ye bilkul tumhaari jaesi hai, ekdam pyaari"

(She is just like you...so lovely)

Mihika gives him a small fake smile, but her eyes return to her daughter. She does not know how to explain the strange mixture of emotions she feels whenever Mrityunjay is around

She loves him. She has accepted him as her husband, and somewhere deep inside her heart, she knows that she has developed feelings for him

But she is also scared of him. His love is intense, his possessiveness is frightening, and sometimes Mihika feels that there is nothing Mrityunjay cannot do when it comes to protecting the people he considers his own

She remembers how quickly her life changed when he first saw her. She had been a normal royal princess from a small kingdom, living a simple royal life with her family, until Mrityunjay saw her

One look had been enough for him. He became crazily obsessed with her, and before Mihika could even understand what was happening, he married her the very next day

Everything happened so quickly that she barely had time to process it. She had accepted him because she had no other choice at that time, but with time, her feelings became real

She began loving him despite being afraid of the intensity of his love

Now, after four years of marriage, she has learned to understand his moods, his silence, his expressions, and the way he looks at her whenever someone gets too close

Still, there are moments when his possessiveness makes her heart beat faster with fear. Mihika looks at her daughter again and gently caresses her tiny head

The baby slowly opens her eyes for a moment and looks towards her mother before giving a small innocent smile

Mihika's heart melts instantly. She feels as if the entire world has stopped around her. She softly smiles at her daughter and continues caressing her head. Then she quietly says

"Aapke mummy papa khush nahi hai na"

(Your parent's are not happy right)

Her voice is soft, but there is sadness hidden inside it. She knows exactly why Mrityunjay's parents are unhappy

They had been expecting a boy because Mrityunjay is their only son and the royal king

They had expected their bloodline to continue through a male heir, but Mihika had given birth to a daughter

Since the birth of Aashvi, the atmosphere around the palace has changed. Mihika has felt the coldness in their behaviour, the disappointment in their voices, and the way they look at her daughter as if she has done something wrong by being born a girl

Mrityunjay does not say anything for a moment. He slowly reaches towards the baby and carefully picks Aashvi into his arms

He holds her close to his chest, looking at his daughter with a softness that Mihika rarely sees on his face. Then he says

"Mai tumhaare aur meri beti ke against kuch nahi sun sakta"

(I cannot hear anything against you and my daughter)

Mihika looks at him silently. She knows he means every word. She has seen his anger before, and she knows how dangerous his anger can become when someone hurts the people he love

She slowly sighs and looks down at her hands. She wishes things could be simple. She wishes that Aashvi could grow up without being judged for being a girl

She wishes that she could protect her daughter from every cruel word and every expectation placed on her

Mrityunjay keeps looking at Aashvi while gently holding her. The tiny baby rests comfortably against him, completely unaware of the tension surrounding her birth

Mihika watches them both and feels a strange warmth in her heart. She knows that whatever else happens, Mrityunjay loves their daughter

He may be frighteningly possessive, but when it comes to Aashvi, his love is just as strong as hers. Mihika slowly gets up from the bed

Her body is still recovering, and she can feel the tiredness in every step, but she does not want to remain in bed anymore

She has been resting constantly since the pregnancy began, and even after giving birth, everyone keeps telling her to lie down, eat, sleep, and take care of herself

Mrityunjay has been over pampering her from the moment she became pregnant. He barely lets her do anything by herself. Mihika looks towards him and says

"Mai raat ke khaane ka dekhkar aati hu"

(I'll come back after checking on dinner)

Mrityunjay immediately looks at her with concern. He gently adjusts Aashvi in his arms and says

"Tumhe rest karna chahiye"

(You should rest)

Mihika looks at him with a tired expression and softly replies

"Mai rest karte karte thak gai hu"

(I am tied to resting all the time)

She does not wait for another response. She slowly walks towards the door, trying to ignore the weakness in her body

Mrityunjay watches her leave while still holding their daughter. Mihika steps outside the room, expecting to walk towards the kitchen area, but the moment she enters the corridor, a horrifying sight appears in front of her

A scream leaves her mouth. Her entire body freezes. She stands there breathing heavily, staring in shock at the dead bodies of her in laws hanging from the chandelier above the grand hall

Her eyes widen with horror, and her hands begin trembling. She cannot move. She cannot even understand what she is seeing

The people who were alive only a short while ago are now dead, and their bodies are hanging in front of her

Mihika takes a shaky breath and steps backwards. Her heart is pounding violently inside her chest

She turns around slowly, and Mrityunjay is standing behind her. He has followed her while still holding Aashvi in his arms

There is no panic on his face. There is no fear in his eyes. Instead, there is a calm smile on his lips

Mihika looks at him in complete disbelief, her body still shaking from the sight in front of her

Mrityunjay looks at her and then towards the dead bodies before calmly saying

"Maine kaha tha na mai apni Rani aur rajkumaari ke khilaaf kuch nahi sun sakta"

(I told you I can't hear anything against my queen and princess)

Mihika continues staring at him. Her lips part, but no words come out. She slowly realises what he has done

He has killed his own parents because they were taunting her for giving birth to a girl. Her heart feels heavy with fear and disbelief

She looks at Aashvi, who is peacefully resting in her father's arms, completely unaware of the horror around her

Mihika looks back at Mrityunjay. She wants to understand how he can remain so calm after doing something so terrible

But the expression on his face tells her everything. For him, this is not something he regrets. He believes he has protected his wife and daughter

He looks down at Aashvi and gently touches her tiny cheek with one finger. His expression softens completely as he looks at his little daughter

Then he looks towards Mihika again and says

"Tum agar mera dil ho to Aashvi meri jaan hai aur mai tum dono ke khilaaf bolne vaale har insaan ko aesi hi maut dunga"

( If you are my heart, then Aashvi is my life and I will kill every person who speaks against you both in the same manner)

Mihika's eyes fill with fear as she listens to him. She understands that his love has no limits, but neither does his possessiveness

She looks at her daughter and then at her husband, feeling trapped between love, fear, and the reality standing in front of her

Aashvi remains peaceful in Mrityunjay's arms, her tiny face innocent and untouched by the darkness surrounding her family

Mihika slowly places one trembling hand over her chest as she tries to control her breathing

She has always wanted to protect her daughter, but now she realises that the person standing beside her may become the greatest danger to anyone who ever tries to hurt them

Mrityunjay continues holding Aashvi carefully, staring at his daughter with endless love, while Mihika remains frozen in front of him, unable to look away from the terrible proof of just how far he is willing to go for his queen and his princess

Pallavi is running around the mansion, searching for her two year old daughter, who is nowhere to be found

She quickly looks behind the curtains, checks the rooms, looks under the tables, and keeps moving from one place to another, but there is no sign of Inaya anywhere

After learning to walk, Inaya has become extremely difficult to find whenever she decides to hide

She has started understanding that whenever her mother says they are going somewhere, there is usually a reason behind it, and today that reason is something she absolutely does not want to face

Pallavi is supposed to take her to the hospital for her injection, and the moment Inaya understood that, she disappeared from everyone's sight

Pallavi keeps looking around the huge mansion while her breathing becomes heavier because of all the running

She lifts her dress slightly so that she does not trip while moving quickly through the hall and then loudly calls

"Inaya beta"

Her voice echoes through the mansion, but there is no answer. The maids standing nearby try their best not to laugh, but they cannot stop themselves from giggling as they watch Pallavi running from one corner to another

They know exactly why Inaya is hiding, and they also know that Pallavi is becoming more and more tired with every passing minute

Pallavi turns towards them with an irritated expression, but the maids quickly lower their heads, still trying to hide their smiles. She looks around again and calls her daughter's name

"Inaya"

Still nothing. Pallavi places one hand on her waist and takes a deep breath. She cannot understand how a two year old child can disappear so completely inside such a huge mansion

She knows Inaya is somewhere nearby because the little girl was with her only a short while ago, but now there is not even a sound coming from her

Pallavi starts searching again, opening one door after another while repeatedly calling her daughter

She checks the sitting room, the hallway, the corner near the staircase, and even the places where she knows Inaya likes to play

But Inaya is nowhere. Pallavi is already tired of chasing her daughter around, and the thought of taking her to the hospital makes everything even more difficult

Finally, she walks back towards the main hall, breathing heavily. At that moment, she sees her husband, Gitesh, standing there

He looks completely calm while Pallavi looks as if she has run through the entire mansion. Gitesh watches her for a moment before asking

"Aap aesi bhaag kyu rahi hai"

(Why are you running like this)

Pallavi stares at him while trying to catch her breath

She is already frustrated, and seeing him standing so peacefully makes her even more irritated. She immediately shouts at him

"Tumhi ne bigada hai usse, mujhe hospital Jana hai aur vo ladki kahi mil hi nahi Rahi hai"

(You've spoiled her, I need to go to the hospital and that girl is nowhere to be found)

Gitesh listens quietly and lets out a small sigh. He knows very well that Pallavi is right. He has spoiled Inaya too much

Whenever she asks for something, he finds a way to give it to her, and because of that, the little girl has learned that her father is the easiest person to convince

Gitesh looks around the hall as if he is also searching for his daughter. He pretends to walk towards another direction, but he does not actually look worried

His eyes move around the room carefully, searching for the little clues that might tell him where Inaya is hiding. Suddenly, something catches his attention

Under one of the large tables in the living room, he sees a tiny anklet sparkling in the light. Gitesh stops walking

A small smile appears on his face because he immediately understands who is hiding there. He slowly walks towards the table and bends down

Inaya is hiding underneath it, trying her best to stay quiet. Her little body is curled up in the corner, and she looks completely determined not to come out because she knows exactly what will happen if her mother finds her

Gitesh reaches inside and carefully picks her up. Inaya immediately starts groaning because she knows her hiding place has been discovered

Gitesh holds her tightly in his arms and looks at her with a soft expression before saying

"Beta aap mummy ko kyu pareshan kar rahe ho"

(Beta why are you troubling mumma)

Inaya looks at him with an unhappy face and continues trying to get out of his arms. She moves her little hands and feet, hoping that her father will put her down, but Gitesh holds her securely

"Mujhe hospital nahi jana papa"

(I don't want to go to the hospital dad)

Inaya says while groaning. Her voice is filled with fear and irritation because she knows that the hospital means an injection

She does not like injections at all, and she has already decided that hiding is much better than going there

Gitesh looks at his daughter and understands that she is not going to agree easily

He knows Pallavi will take her to the hospital whether she wants to go or not, but he also knows that his daughter can be convinced if he offers her something she really wants. He looks at Inaya and asks

"Agar aapne jo manga tha vo mai aapko de du to kya aap hospital jaogi"

(If I give you what you asked for, will you go to the hospital)

Inaya stops struggling. Her expression immediately changes. The fear on her face disappears for a moment as she looks at her father with interest

She slowly nods her head with an excited expression. Gitesh smiles because he knows he has found the easiest way to make her agree

He continues holding his daughter in his arms and slowly walks towards the large doors of the mansion

Pallavi follows them, still confused about what her husband is planning

She has no idea what Gitesh has promised their daughter, but she already knows that whatever it is, it will probably be something unnecessary and expensive

Gitesh reaches the entrance of the mansion and makes Inaya look outside towards the law

The moment Pallavi's eyes fall on the lawn, they widen in complete shock. She stops walking

Her mouth slightly opens as she stares at what is standing outside. In the middle of the beautiful lawn is a huge elephant statue made completely out of gold

The sunlight falls over its surface, making it shine brightly. The statue is so large and detailed that it looks almost like a real elephant from a distance

Inaya's eyes become huge with excitement. She immediately starts clapping her little hands and says

"Wow sone ka haathi"

(Wow a gold elephant)

Gitesh smiles widely at his daughter. He looks extremely satisfied with her reaction. He slowly puts her down, and the moment her feet touch the ground

Inaya runs towards the golden elephant with excitement. She completely forgets about the hospital, the injection, and everything else

Her tiny feet move quickly across the lawn as she stares at the huge golden statue in front of her. Everyone standing around them becomes completely silent

The maids who had been giggling only a few minutes ago are now staring at the statue with their mouths slightly open. Even the people around the mansion cannot hide their shock

Pallavi slowly walks forward, still unable to believe what she is seeing. She looks at the enormous golden elephant and then at her husband

She notices that the statue is not just a simple elephant. There is a beautiful design carved into it, and Inaya's name is clearly engraved on the statue

Pallavi's eyes widen even more. She looks at Gitesh and asks

"Ye sab kya hai"

(What is this)

Gitesh looks at his daughter, who is happily standing beside the statue and touching its golden surface with her tiny hands

Inaya is completely fascinated by it. She keeps clapping her hands, smiling, and looking at the huge elephant as if she has just received the greatest gift in the world

Gitesh looks at Pallavi with a calm smile and says

"Meri beti jo chahegi vo mai usse lakar dunga, mere liye uski khushi se zyada important kuch nahi hai"

(I will get my daughter whatever she wants; nothing is more important to me than her happiness)

Pallavi stares at her husband with a shocked expression. She does not even know what to say anymore. She knew Gitesh was crazy when it came to their daughter

She knew he spoiled Inaya and gave her almost everything she asked for. She had seen him buy expensive toys, clothes, gifts, and countless things for their little girl

But she never imagined that his love would go this far. A golden elephant statue standing in the middle of their lawn is something she cannot even understand

It is far beyond a normal gift. It is something that makes everyone around them stare in disbelief. Pallavi looks at Inaya again

The little girl is still clapping her hands and staring at the statue with complete happiness

She does not even notice the shocked expressions around her. For her, the golden elephant is simply something beautiful that her father has given her because she wanted it

She does not understand its value or how unbelievable the gift is. She only knows that she likes it
